Taco eatery coming to Tomlinson Marketplace
Tomlinson Marketplace is about to get a lot more delicious. Local Taco Shop, which will use ingredients from nearby farms, is set to open on Aug. 17, just in time for the start of the fall semester.
Local Taco Shop will feature a variety of meat and vegetarian options, as well as sides and daily specials. Here is the full list of taco options, available on either flour or corn tortillas:
- Portabella: marinated portabella mushroom with goat cheese, pickled slaw, tomatoes and fried onions
- Tequila lime pulled pork: tequila and lime marinated and slow roasted Miller grass-fed pork with salsa verde and tomatoes
- Chorizo and potato: chorizo and potato with goat cheese and smoky aioli
- Braised beef: shredded New Creation Farm beef with shredded cheddar cheese and pickled slaw
- Buffalo chicken: grilled chicken with hot sauce, blue cheese, pickled celery, lettuce and tomatoes
- Fish: baked panko-crusted tilapia with pickled slaw and tartar sauce
Tacos will cost $2.95, while a meal, which includes three tacos, choice of side and a drink, will cost $9.50. Sides include house made chips and salsa, pickled vegetables, spicy black bean dip and yellow rice.
“We were inspired by a visit to a restaurant, in Alameda, CA, that features authentic tacos with interesting ingredients that are house-made and seasonal,” said Jim Boland, Bon Appétit’s Director of Operations, in a press release. “We are looking forward to bringing the CWRU community our new concept.”
Local Taco Shop will be open Monday through Friday for lunch. Free samples and tastings will be available from opening through Aug. 21.
