The Spartan women edged out a tough Denison University team on Saturday night to bring their season record to 8-7-1 and their non-conference schedule to a close.

With a late goal by senior Leah Levey, the team took a 2-1 lead during the brisk October match. With this goal, Levey has the highest number of game-winning goals in program history.

Junior Jessie Sabers scored the first goal for the team at 12:39 in the first half. The team had a total of eight shots on goal as opposed to the three shots by the opposition.

The Spartans look to keep the streak going entering their last few weeks of competition. They will face off against Carnegie Mellon University next Friday at home for their annual charity competition benefiting the Likoni Community Football League.
